The Philips Stadion, previously known as 'Philips Sportpark' was originally built in 1913 with a capacity of 300 and opened its doors to football on 31st August 1913. The stadium is located very close to the Philips Company and is in the area known as 'Philipsdorp' in Eindhoven. Since 1941, there have been a number of renovations to the stadium gradually increasing the capacity to is current 36,500 in the year 2000 for the European Championship; The Philiips Stadium will host the UEFA Cup final in the year 2006 Philips Stadium
